Maybe this will help a lot of users. So good question. 
In order to start your photo album or blog, you need to do this through the control panel. Once it is started, you can manage it from the photo or blog section directly. When you sign in go to the control panel tab on the top. Then select the add photo to "your" photo folder on the left side of the screen. Let me know if you have additional questions.
